The ranch is accessed from county roads, off of Highway 170, a paved two-lane New Mexico State highway, on the west side of the La Plata River. There are several large tracts of private land (300 to 1,000 acres) that can be isolated for private use. The property shares its western boundary with the Ute Mountain Reservation. Most major services are within an hour's driving time in either Farmington, NM, or Durango, Colorado.The ranch is located in New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Unit 2A. Deer tags in this unit are based on a public draw and through the private landowner system. The ranch has not historically participated in the NM EPLUS elk harvest system. There variety of big game wildlife, including mule deer, pronghorn antelope, elk, and black bear.
